White rice or brown rice – make the right choice

The summer is still warm and sunny, but within a month or so we’ll see the autumn take over, and many people consider this to be the perfect time for a lifestyle change. They consider it easier to live a healthy life when the summer is over, but it can be a good thing to start planning small changes already.

Is rice a part of your diet at the moment? I thought so, most people eat rice every now and then, and nothing wrong with that, but you can easily make a small but important change by replacing white rice with brown rice.

Brown rice has more fiber to offer than white rice, and this means you’ll need less food in order to get rid of hunger. You’ll also get more energy from brown rice, and the fact that brown rice isn’t as heavily processed as white rice makes it a healthier choice.

Brown rice contains vitamin E, and it contains both zinc and magnesium. You won’t be able to find these nutrients in white rice, at least not as large amounts as in brown rice, and the reason is the refining process, where most nutrients are lost.

You can lower the cholesterol level by choosing brown rice, as the natural oils in this type of rice helps the body reduce the dangerous type of cholesterol. It will also be a great help if you want to lose some weight, as it promotes the metabolic function.

As you can see, brown rice is a healthier choice, and even though it’s not dangerous to eat white rice in general, it will be a lot better for your body if you choose the brown rice instead.
