How to get vibrant and shiny hair

Beauty is such an important topic to most of us, right? And to have a strong and vibrant hair is important to most women. At least it is to me, and I don’t think I’m the only one who cares about the hair, am I?

I really like the autumn in many ways, it’s a cozy season. One thing that I don’t like though is that my hair seems to be of poorer quality during these months. It’s not as vibrant as it normally is and it’s not at all as shiny as it can be. At least that’s how it used to be, until I learned how to take care of the hair properly. To make it easier for you to get beautiful hair during the entire year, I’ve listed a few things to have in mind.

  • Avoid washing your hair daily – Yes, it probably feels a bit awkard not to wash your hair every day, but I can assure you it’ll be good for the hair. By leaving it to rest without washing it every day you will make it possible for the hair to maintain the level of natural oils, which is essential for a vibrant hair.
  • Make conditioner your best friend – If you normally don’t use conditioner, start doing it now! If you already do it, keep doing what you already do. You should rub from the tips to the root, not the other way around. You can also leave the conditioner for a few minutes before rinsing, for a silkier look.
  • Get shiny hair from cold water – Try to rinse your hair with cold water, or at least as cold as you feel comfortable with. The reason why this actually works, is because it helps sealing the hair cuticles, which means the moisture stays in there, which makes the hair more shiny.
  • Don’t overuse the brush – Ever heard someone say that you should brush your hair with 100 strokes every day to make it softer and silkier? It’s just a rumour, and it’s not true. Try not to overuse the brush, just brush as much as you need to. It’s especially important to avoid the brush when the hair is wet. Try using your fingers instead and brush it when it’s dry.
  • Treat your hair with a hair mask every now and then – It may very well be a home made one, they are usually just as effective as the one you purchase in the beauty shop. Use avocado oil or olive oil, or a mix of olive oil and mashed avocado for a great result. You can find great mask recipes online.

Your hair can actually be just as beautiful and vibrant during the cooler season, and it doesn’t require expensive treatments or hours at the beauty salon. Just make sure to give it the care it needs. That’s all it takes!
